• Letterkenny man avoids conviction over cocaine possession Possession of cocaine for sale or supply · Co. Donegal

Sean McGovern, a 32-year-old man from Letterkenny, was found with seven grams of cocaine valued at €490 in June 2022, and gardaí obtained a search warrant and carried out a search. He was charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of selling or supplying it to others. The case was heard at Letterkenny District Court, where Judge Ciaran Liddy accepted jurisdiction and the case was adjourned. The latest development is that the judge said he would apply section 1.1 of the Probation Act, which would avoid a conviction, if McGovern makes a €500 donation to Cara House.
