Michael Ward, 33, and Melissa Collins, 26, face charges of theft of about €15,000 in connection with an alleged accommodation fraud against international students in south Dublin in 2022. Both were arrested in September 2022 following a Garda investigation at Blackrock station and were later charged with 13 counts of theft each. In July 2025, Ward pleaded guilty to stealing €1,800 from a bank account and Collins pleaded guilty to stealing €600 from a bank account. Both failed to appear for sentencing on 24 November 2025, and Judge Martin Nolan issued bench warrants for their arrest.

On 3 October 2021, four men attacked the home of Mary Nevin at 68 Grian Ard, Ardnacassa, Longford, shortly before 10.30pm, smashing a door and six windows with iron bars while she, her husband and five children were in bed. David Joyce (28), John Keenan (31), Michael 'Jnr' Ward (33) and Martin Keenan (34) pleaded guilty to violent disorder and putting a person in fear at Longford Circuit Court in November 2024. Mrs Nevin had tried to withdraw her complaint, but the DPP approved the prosecution, and the defendants did not explain why they carried out the attack. On 12 November 2024, the four men were sentenced to varying periods of up to 39 months in prison.

He was convicted of driving with no insurance, no driving licence, no tax, and no L plates. In January 2023, Judge Sandra Murphy sentenced him to 200 hours of community service in lieu of six months in prison, a four-year driving disqualification, and fines of €150, €150 and €200 for the remaining offences. He had previous convictions for no insurance and 18 hours of community service outstanding at the time of sentencing.
