Josephine 'Jo Jo' Dullard, 21, disappeared from Moone, Co. Kildare, on 9 November 1995 after phoning a friend from a phone box to say a car had stopped for her, and Deirdre Jacob, 18, a student teacher, vanished from outside her home in Newbridge, Co. Kildare, on 28 July 1998. Larry Murphy, 61, who served 10 years for the rape and attempted murder of a woman in Carlow in 2000, is the prime suspect for Jacob's murder. A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of Dullard's murder in November 2024 but released without charge. Gardaí conducted a 10-day excavation at Castleruddery Upper, Co. Wicklow, in February 2026 searching for a buried vehicle linked to Murphy, and concluded a second search at the same site in July 2026, with results withheld for operational reasons.

Deirdre Jacob, an 18-year-old Irish woman, went missing on 28 July 1998 near her home in Newbridge, Co Kildare, while walking home after collecting a bank draft, and Jo Jo Dullard, a 21-year-old Irish woman, disappeared from Moone, Co Kildare, in November 1995. Larry Murphy, a 56-year-old Irish man from Baltinglass, is the prime suspect; he was convicted for the kidnapping, rape and attempted murder of a woman in the Wicklow Mountains and released in 2010. Both cases were upgraded to murder investigations in 2018, and a file recommending a murder charge against Murphy was sent to the DPP in 2021, but the DPP directed no prosecution in July 2022. Searches at Taggartstown in October 2021 and at a quarry on the Kildare-Wicklow border in June 2026 found no evidential material. Gardaí renewed their public appeal for information on the 28th anniversary of Jacob's disappearance in July 2026.
