  Thomas O'Neill, a 37-year-old man, sustained a gunshot wound to an upper leg after a shooting outside a house on Hyde Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick, at around 8.20pm on Saturday 3 October 2026. He was taken to University Hospital Limerick where his injuries were treated as non-life-threatening. Gardaí cordoned off the scene for a technical examination by scenes of crime officers. No arrests or charges have been reported, and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dash-cam or CCTV footage from the area.

  Thomas O'Neill, a 35-year-old man, was arrested after gardaí allegedly observed drug dealing outside a house on Hyde Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick City. Sources differ on the offence dates, giving June 2023 in the sentencing reports and June 2024 in the November 2024 reports. Gardaí seized a Hyundai Tucson with heroin and cocaine deal bags on its rear seat and found seven more heroin deals at his home. On 11 November 2024 he pleaded guilty at Limerick Circuit Criminal Court to six Misuse of Drugs Act offences and was remanded in custody for sentencing. The latest development is that Judge Colin Daly jailed him for two years in November 2024, with the sentences backdated to 13 June.

  Thomas O'Neill, 33, a man from Limerick, pleaded guilty to violent disorder after confronting a man referred to as Mr A and grabbing him by the neck in Limerick city centre on 22 March 2021. Mr A was taken by ambulance to hospital with signs of concussion, bruising to his right eye, and scrapes to his neck. O'Neill was sentenced to six months at Limerick Circuit Court on 22 December 2021 and is likely to be released in January with good behaviour. He has previous convictions including a ten-year sentence in 2004 for a gang rape at Cratloe Woods, Co Clare, in 2003.
