On 27 April 2008, Sebastian Betlejewski, 37, punched a stag party-goer, a man whose age is not given, on the dancefloor of the then-named Zanzibar nightclub on Batchelor's Walk, Dublin, and the victim fell and fractured his skull. Gardaí arrived shortly after the CCTV-captured assault, but Betlejewski was allowed to leave and later left Ireland before being charged. He was arrested in February 2023 after an Interpol error had him listed in the UK, was extradited from Poland earlier that year, and pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to one count of assault causing harm. On 13 October 2023, Judge Elma Sheahan sentenced him to 18 months, suspended on a number of conditions.
