A fire damaged the interior of a semi-detached home at 10 Ottomy Avenue, Clane, County Kildare, on 26 May 2026. Robert Kelly, a 46-year-old man, is alleged to have set the fire. On 18 June 2026 he appeared at Naas District Court, where Garda Darren Moulton said it will be alleged he set fire to his house and walked out. Judge Zaidan adjourned the case and requested medical and psychiatric reports, after defence solicitor Matt Byrne said there is a diagnosis of schizophrenia.
