A man in his 20s sustained serious head injuries in an alleged assault at Kyleboher, Kilcormac, Offaly, at approximately 6pm on 15 November 2021, and was transferred from Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore to Beaumont Hospital. Michael Mongan, 19, of Frankfort Park, Kilcormac, was charged with assault causing harm, producing a hurley, and intentionally or recklessly causing serious damage to another man. In May 2022, Judge Miriam Walsh adjourned the case for six weeks for preparation of the book of evidence, with the case to proceed on indictment. Legal aid was granted to Mongan with Tony McGlynn solicitors, Athlone, appointed.
