  On 8 January 2020, a Mercedes stolen from Oldcastle, Co Meath was driven in convoy with a jeep taken at Bohey, Co Leitrim, and a metal hand trolley was stolen from Keane's Costcutter in Drumlish, Co Longford. The car, carrying five occupants including John Stokes, 33, lost control on a right-hand bend near Mohill, struck a tree, and flipped over, trapping Stokes who had to be cut from the vehicle by the Fire Service. Stokes pleaded guilty on 31 May 2022 to theft and allowing himself to be carried in a stolen vehicle. His sentencing was adjourned to February 2023 at Carrick-on-Shannon Circuit Court for an updated probation report.
