Sentenced, 1 Mar 2026Convicted · 1 report - Two men plead guilty to conspiracy to murder in Dublin Conspiracy to murder · Co. Dublin
A 17-year-old boy was shot multiple times at close range after getting into a taxi on Eugene Street, Dublin 8, at around 10.55pm on the night of 23 to 24 February 2021, in what was described in court as a well-planned assassination attempt. Stephen Mulvey, 34, and Jamie Berry, 30, both of Leo Fitzgerald House, Dublin 2, were charged with conspiracy to murder the teenager. In March 2023, Ms Justice Eileen Creedon directed a jury to find both men not guilty of attempted murder at the Central Criminal Court, but the Court of Appeal overturned that decision in February 2024 and ordered a retrial. In November 2025, both men pleaded guilty to conspiracy to murder and were remanded on bail to 19 January 2026.
