Two men plead guilty to conspiracy to murder in Dublin
A 17-year-old boy was shot in the head, neck and right leg at close range after getting into a taxi at Eugene Street, Dublin 8, at around 10.55pm on 24 February 2021. Stephen Mulvey, a man aged 31 (reports differ: 34), and Jamie Berry, a man aged 27 (reports differ: 30), both of Leo Fitzgerald House, Dublin 2, were charged with conspiracy to murder, attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. In March 2023, Ms Justice Eileen Creedon directed a jury to find them not guilty of attempted murder due to insufficient evidence, but the Court of Appeal overturned that decision in February 2024 and ordered a retrial. In November 2025, both men pleaded guilty to conspiracy to murder at the Central Criminal Court and were remanded on bail to 19 January 2026.
