    On 25 May 2023, a tractor pulling a trailer overtook a cyclist very closely on the R448 road from Ballyhale to Ballyanne in County Kilkenny, causing him great concern and worry. Eddie Glass, a man from Grangemore Hill, Kildare, was charged under the road traffic act after a fixed charge penalty issued in the case was not paid. Mr Glass appeared before Kilkenny District Court, where he said he was not aware he had done anything wrong until three months later. The judge was satisfied he would be careful in future and ordered him to pay €200 to the Court Poor Box, as reported on 8 March 2024.
