David Slattery (50), of Priory Square, Celbridge, Co Kildare, befriended a 16-year-old girl on Snapchat in summer 2023 and sexually exploited her, giving her money, alcohol and cocaine in exchange for sexual activity. Gardaí stopped him on 28 August 2023 with the girl as a passenger, and a search of his home in September 2023 found two child sexual exploitation images and two videos on his device. He was arrested in March 2024 and pleaded guilty to obtaining a child for sexual exploitation and possessing child sexual abuse material. On 9 April 2025 Judge Martin Nolan imposed a three-year prison sentence at Dublin Circuit Court, which is the latest development reported.
