Man sentenced to three years for sexually exploiting 16-year-old girl he met on Snapchat
David Slattery (50), of Celbridge, Co Kildare, befriended a 16-year-old girl on Snapchat in summer 2023 and sexually exploited her, giving her money, alcohol and cocaine in exchange for sexual favours. Gardaí searched his home and found two child sexual exploitation images and two videos on his device, which had been sent to him by another teenage girl. Slattery pleaded guilty to one count of obtaining a child for sexual exploitation and one count of possessing child sexual abuse material. On 9 April 2025 Judge Martin Nolan at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court imposed a three-year prison sentence.
