On the afternoon of 13 April 2025, a 22-25 year old male prisoner was set upon by four fellow inmates in the exercise yard of Limerick Prison, sustaining cuts to his head. Thomas McCarthy, 32, Danny Connors, 30, Christopher O'Donoghue, 34, and Dean O'Donoghue, 29, were charged with violent disorder. All four entered signed guilty pleas at Limerick Circuit Court, and Judge Colin Daly deferred sentencing to 18 November 2026. The defendants have since made amends with the injured party, who did not wish to make a victim impact statement.

James Forde, a 56-year-old man from Clareview, Limerick City, was fatally struck by a maroon Ford Focus while crossing a pedestrian crossing on the Ennis Road on 26 November 2024. Danny Connors, a 30-year-old man of Clondrinagh Halting Site, Limerick, was arrested the same day and charged with eight offences including dangerous driving causing death and failing to remain at the scene. Connors, who was banned from driving and had 120 previous convictions, pleaded guilty to all charges at Limerick Circuit Criminal Court in June 2025. In January 2026, he was sentenced to seven years in prison with the final six months suspended and a 15-year road ban.
