On 24 February 2025, Brian McDonagh, 64, barricaded himself in his house at Drummin House, Drummin East, Delgany, Co Wicklow, after officials arrived to execute a High Court repossession order secured by a bank. Armed gardaí attended and a standoff lasted several hours before he was arrested at 3:15pm and two firearms, a shotgun and an airsoft rifle, were recovered. He was charged with producing an article likely to unlawfully intimidate another person and with wilfully obstructing a sheriff. He appeared at Bray District Court on 25 February 2025 and was remanded in custody, with a next appearance by video link set for 3 March 2025.
