latest first- Boy A's life sentence appeal adjourned in Ana Kriégel murder, Dublin Murder (appeal against life sentence) · Co. Dublin
Ana Kriégel, a 14-year-old Russian-Irish student, was sexually assaulted and beaten to death in an abandoned farmhouse in Lucan, Dublin, on 14 May 2018. Boy A and Boy B, both 13 at the time, were convicted by a Central Criminal Court jury in June 2019 of her murder, and Boy A was also convicted of aggravated sexual assault. Boy A was sentenced to life with a 12-year review and Boy B to 15 years with an 8-year review in November 2019. Boy B withdrew his appeal against conviction in October 2022, and in January 2026 the Central Criminal Court confirmed it cannot review his sentence following a Supreme Court ruling. Boy A's appeal against his life sentence is before the Court of Appeal, adjourned to 10 July 2026.
