Andrew Lennon, a 46-year-old man with an address in Louth Village, used fraudulent details to take a series of motor insurance policies taken out between 11 February 2013 and 8 August 2015, which gave cover for up to six weeks before they were cancelled. The garda investigation was based on recordings of his phone calls to Allianz Insurance. He pleaded guilty to six of the 11 charges of obtaining services by deception he faced and was sentenced at Dundalk Circuit Court to 240 hours of community service in lieu of a two-year sentence. The judge warned that failing to complete the community service would result in the two-year sentence being imposed, as reported on 16 October 2025.
