Zainab Adetanwa Agoro, an Irish woman reported as 22 (one report says 23), was a student in Letterkenny when she was arrested in August 2022 and taken to Letterkenny Garda Station over money laundering allegations. She was charged with possession of property that was the proceeds of criminal conduct after allowing housemates to use her AIB, Bank of Ireland and Revolut accounts. On 20 February 2025 she pleaded guilty at Letterkenny Circuit Court, and Judge Roderick Maguire directed a probation report and adjourned the case for final sentence. At a hearing reported on 13 July 2025, guilty pleas were entered to sample charges from 84 counts totalling more than €35,000, and judgment is due on 18 July.
