Zach Parker, 23, an Irish barber and drug dealer, was shot in the head, chest and arm while sitting in his BMW X5 outside a gym in Applewood Close, Swords, on the evening of 17 January 2019, and died at the scene with a friend badly injured in the passenger seat. Gardaí believe a lone shooter carried out the killing and fled on foot. A man in his 30s was arrested in February 2021 and released without charge, and the DPP directed no prosecution in August 2022. The investigation remains open, and in April 2025 Glen Ward, the crime boss of the Gucci Gang, was unmasked as 'Mr Flashy' and jailed for a separate rifle offence.
