  Welton Aparecido Matias Roderiguez, 29, of Derrykearn, Abbeyleix, is accused of not having insurance and failing to produce it at Rossleighan, Mountmellick Road, Portlaoise, Laois, on November 12, 2023. Gardaí say he had been paying €900 a year to a broker based in Brazil and had shown them Revolut payments, and that he had been issued a disc and certificate, while his solicitor said there may have been an issue with a fraudulent certificate. He appeared at Portlaoise District Court in a case reported in June 2024, when Judge Andrew Cody remanded the matter to July 25. He will need a valid policy of insurance by July 25 to avoid disqualification.
