    A man was allegedly stabbed on Richmond Street in Longford town on 24 August 2023 at about 5.25pm. The victim, Walid Boskia, a man in his 30s, was taken by ambulance to Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar with non-life-threatening injuries. Sidiali Achour, a 32-year-old man, was charged with assault causing harm. Achour appeared before Judge Patricia Cronin at Longford District Court in September 2023, where the case was adjourned to 21 November for DPP direction and he was granted bail with conditions.
