Vincent Maher, 29, died from injuries sustained in a violent assault during a party in his apartment in Springmount Apartments, Wellmount Road, Finglas, in the early hours of 11 January 2014. Garda sources believed he was attacked after confronting two men about broken furniture in his flat. Five people, including two women, were arrested in connection with the death but no charges were ever brought. An inquest at Dublin District Coroner's Court, adjourned in January 2023 after summoned witnesses failed to attend, concluded on 23 March 2023 when a seven-person jury returned a narrative verdict, with the investigation remaining open.
