Valeriju Voronenko, a 50-year-old Lithuanian unemployed construction worker with an address at Gardiner Street, Dublin 1, was arrested at Stable Lane in Smithfield on 8 August 2025 after gardaí found a 3D-printed Harlot pistol and eight rounds of .22 ammunition in a sports bag. He was charged with four Firearms Act offences, including two counts of unlawful possession and two counts of possession in suspicious circumstances. He appeared at Dublin District Court on 9 August, 1 September, and 3 November, with bail granted subject to a €500 bond, passport surrender, and an 11pm-to-8am curfew. On 3 November the DPP directed trial on indictment at the Circuit Court, and the case was adjourned to 19 December for prosecutors to complete a book of evidence.
