Troy Jordan, 53, of Allenwood, County Kildare, is being prosecuted for driving without a licence and failing to produce a licence at Allenwood South on 21 August 2022. The case was reported on 20 July 2023 after a hearing at Naas District Court, where the defence sought to have it struck out. The prosecuting garda was absent because he was on a course in Templemore, and Sgt Dave Hanrahan applied for an adjournment, which the defence opposed. Troy Jordan, a 52-year-old man from Allenwood, Kildare, was found guilty of driving with no valid insurance on the Prosperous Road in Clane on 26 August 2020. He told gardaí the car belonged to a man named David Stewart and that the insurance policy only covered the UK and Northern Ireland. The case was heard at Naas courthouse, where Judge Zaidan did not accept that Jordan was insured to drive the vehicle. Jordan, who had 14 or 16 previous convictions, was sentenced to five months in custody and a four-year driving disqualification, and was also fined €350 by Judge Power.
