  Trevor Carey, a 43-year-old man from Limerick, pleaded guilty to possession of 5.65kg of cocaine worth almost €400,000 for the purpose of sale or supply. The drugs were found at a house in Corbally, Limerick, after gardai observed him dropping a package there on 12 June 2020 during the first Covid lockdown. Carey told the court he acted as a gofer for an organised crime group, receiving phone calls directing where to deliver packages. Sentencing was adjourned to February 2023, but on 8 February 2023 a bench warrant was issued at Limerick Circuit Court after Carey failed to appear, citing illness.
