• Man released without charge over fatal hit and run at Clonmore Road traffic incident (fatal) · Co. Tipperary

  Tony Cullen, a man in his 60s, was struck by a vehicle on the R433 near Clonmore Village, Tipperary, in the early hours of 21 November 2022 and pronounced dead at the scene, about 100 metres from his home. A man in his 20s was arrested on 22 November and detained at Thurles Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. He was released from custody without charge on 23 November 2022. Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage from road users in the area between 1am and 1.20am on the night of the incident.
