Tomass Cukars, 26, of Mill Road, Glenties, appeared before Ballyshannon District Court, where he was served the book of evidence over alleged human trafficking and possession of over €200,000 in proceeds from criminal conduct. The alleged offences were committed between 6 February 2022 and 24 November 2022, and the bank accounts involved were allegedly held in branches in Ballyshannon and Dublin. The DPP consented to trial in the Circuit Court rather than the Special Criminal Court, and the defence asked the court to record that bail had been refused.
