latest first- Man sentenced to life for murder of friend in Lucan Murder · Co. Dublin
Latvian man Juris Kokenbergs, 49, was found dead at a house in Old Bridge Park, Lucan, Co Dublin, on 28 October 2024 after a sustained violent attack. Lithuanian man Tomas Cypas, 35, was arrested at the scene and initially charged with causing serious harm before the charge was upgraded to murder in January 2025. Cypas pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court, where a jury convicted him of murder by a 10-to-2 majority in March 2026. He was sentenced to the mandatory term of life imprisonment in March 2026.
