Fr Tom Brady, aged 66, was a priest attached to the Diocese of Galway who sexually assaulted a 12-year-old boy at the Parochial House in Ballybane, Galway, between July 1994 and February 1995. He was charged with 20 offences of sexual assault on the same boy. In November 2021, he pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault at Galway Circuit Court just before a jury was selected. In April 2022, he was sentenced to two years in prison, with the final six months suspended.
