• Family seeks return of clothing from 1992 assault on Thomas Weekes, Tallaght Assault · Co. Dublin

  In October 1992, Thomas Weekes, a 20-year-old man from Tallaght, County Dublin, was attacked by a neighbour as he walked home. He suffered serious head injuries, was taken to St James's Hospital, and was discharged before dying a week later at the same hospital. On 23 May 2024, his family said they were still waiting for the clothing his brother had given gardaí to be returned, and gardaí said it would be returned once the case was over. As of that date, garda enquiries were ongoing, gardaí were liaising with Tallaght garda station on the request, and no arrest or charge is reported.
