On 4 December 2022, gardai received a report of a man asleep on the windowsill of a house in Newcastle West, County Limerick. Thomas Sexton, 27, of Dunquin, Knockane, Newcastle West, became verbally abusive when woken by gardai and was arrested for his own safety. He pleaded guilty to engaging in threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour at Newcastle West Court, where he represented himself. Judge Carol Anne Coolican struck the matter out after he paid €150 to the court poor box.
