At 2:15am on 18 February 2023, Thomas Reilly, 53, of Granard, was stumbling and behaving aggressively at a Granard Public House on Market Street following his daughter's wedding. Officers responded to calls about a disturbance and arrested him. He was charged with public intoxication and threatening and abusive behaviour. At Longford District Court on 29 March 2023, Judge Bernadette Owens adjourned the matter to 13 June, ordered a €500 donation to Lus na Gréine Family Resource Centre, and remanded Reilly on continuing bail.
