A €106,000 cannabis haul was allegedly stored at the home of Thomas Harrington, a 39-year-old man, in Kildare town in February 2022. He was charged in February 2022 with possession and possession with intent to supply under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977 and granted bail with conditions. Harrington, who runs a vape business, denies all allegations and told gardaí the haul was CBD rather than cannabis. In June 2023, after a book of evidence was served, Judge Desmond Zaidan sent the case forward for trial at the next sittings of Naas Circuit Criminal Court beginning 20 June.
