Thomas Baxter (27), of Derrylyn, Enniskillin, Donegal, was driving a New Holland tractor on the Mullingar Road, Tyrrellspass, Westmeath, on 6 August 2024 while holding a mobile phone. Garda Adrian Stones stopped him, and a fixed charge penalty notice was issued but not paid. He was sentenced at Tullamore District Court in the week before 26 February 2025, where Judge Andrew Cody remarked that he was a long way from home on a tractor. The latest development is that he was fined €400.
