latest first- Dundalk woman sentenced for theft of over €27,000 from Revenue Theft · Co. Louth
Teresa Delduca, a 33-year-old woman from Greenacres, Dundalk, was a clerical officer at the Revenue Offices in Dundalk, Louth. Between September 2016 and May 2018, she changed bank account details on the Revenue system to her own and made payments under the guise of tax credit refunds, health benefits, and a CE scheme, stealing over €27,000. The fraud was uncovered after an internal investigation following her return from sick leave, and a branch manager made a formal complaint at Dundalk Garda Station on 16 September 2019. She pleaded guilty at Dundalk District Court in December 2021 to 31 counts of theft and was sent forward to Dundalk Circuit Court. In July 2022, Judge Dara Hayes sentenced her to two and a half years with the final two years suspended, with conditions including a good behaviour bond, probation supervision for one year, and repaying the balance within five years.
