    On 2 May 2022, Tareq Elkudir, a 61-year-old Libyan man, sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl on a Ryanair flight from Manchester to Dublin while highly intoxicated. He was arrested at Dublin Airport after disembarking and was not fit for interview until the following morning. Elkudir pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. On 11 April 2024, Judge Martin Nolan handed him a fully-suspended sentence of 18 months, saying he did not deserve to go to prison.
