    On 26 June 2022, Tanya Donlon, a student and mother of four from Strokestown, Co Roscommon, was extremely intoxicated and became abusive to gardaí while standing on Main St, Carrick-on-Shannon. She pleaded guilty to threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour and being intoxicated in public. She appeared at Carrick-on-Shannon District Court on 27 January 2023, where Judge Vincent Deane convicted her and fined her €300. She had two previous convictions for a public order offence in 2015 and damaging property in 2017.
