  Tahar Naaman, a 24-year-old man of Skeough, Callan, Co Kilkenny, was involved in a series of offences at various locations around Kilkenny City on 2 and 3 August 2025, including a burglary at Aylesford, Green's Hill. Gardaí said he was seen leaving a property with a suitcase stolen from a shed, and after his arrest he told them where the stolen property was, at an address in Callan. He pleaded guilty to handling stolen property on 5 August, and all the stolen property was recovered. At Kilkenny District Court he was sentenced to an eight-month prison term after admitting burglary, handling stolen property and a number of thefts, a sentence reported on 24 April 2026.
