Suzanne Danker, a 48-year-old woman, ran the company Spanish Dream Weddings in Dublin, organising weddings in Spain. In September 2012, after the company ran out of money, Sarah Foran and Colm Moriarty discovered that none of their wedding contractors had been paid after they had paid around €10,000 to Danker. She was charged with three counts of deception and three counts of theft and pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. In January 2022, Judge Martin Nolan suspended a three-year prison term, with a condition that €9,500 be paid to the victims at court and a further €5,000 over the next two years.
