    Ian Healy, 68, of Drogheda, Co Louth, groomed and sexually abused two sisters, Susan Mallon and Jenny Sullivan, in the family home between 1978 and 1982, when Mallon was between nine and 12 and Sullivan was between six and eight. The matter came to light in 2017 when Mallon went to gardaí. Healy pleaded guilty at the start of his Central Criminal Court trial in April 2025 to 13 sample counts of indecent assault, attempted rape and rape of Mallon, and one count of indecent assault of Sullivan. In November 2025 he was sentenced to 10 years, with the final 18 months suspended on conditions including Probation Service supervision, an effective term of eight and a half years.
