Steven Wrenn, a 50-year-old man (RTÉ gives his age as 51), a peace commissioner and former Labour Party councillor, has been charged with perverting the course of justice and forgery over alleged false search warrants for Garda operations in Dublin, a case investigated by the Garda Anti-Corruption Unit. He is accused of making false warrants in late 2021 for searches carried out on 19 June 2021 at Kenilworth Road, Dublin 6, and on 7 September 2021 at a basement flat in Mountjoy Square North, Dublin. He was charged at Clontarf Garda Station on 12 March 2024 and appeared at Dublin District Court on 20 March 2024, where he was granted €200 bail. On 7 May 2024 he pleaded not guilty, opted for trial before a Circuit Court judge and jury, and was ordered to return on 6 June to be served with the book of evidence.
