  • American actor pleads guilty to harassment at Dublin district court Harassment

    Steven Spenneberg, a 55-year-old American actor, sent unwanted messages and gifts to a 40-year-old Irish woman for nearly 20 years after a three-week relationship in 2004. The woman met him in San Diego while on a J1 visa, and he continued contacting her by fax, Bebo, MySpace, Instagram and Facebook, escalating to a threatening voicemail and his arrival at her family home in Co. Cork on New Year's Eve. He was charged with harassing her from May 2020 to 3 January 2023 and arrested in Dublin by Garda Shauna Ferncombe from Donnybrook station. He pleaded guilty before Judge Gerard Jones at Cloverhill District Court on 24 February 2023, and the case was sent for sentencing at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 16 March 2023.
