Inita Romanovska, a 36-year-old Latvian woman, was charged with attempting to murder Stephen O'Flaherty after allegedly stabbing him in the chest and shoulders at Newtown House, Henry Street, Limerick, on 11 March 2020. The pair had allegedly met on the dating app Tinder and were not in a relationship. In February 2023, Romanovska pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of intentionally attempting to cause serious harm before Mr Justice Paul McDermott at the Central Criminal Court and was remanded on continuing bail until 23 May 2023 for sentencing. On 24 May 2023, she failed to appear for her sentencing hearing and could not be contacted by phone, prompting Ms Justice Eileen Creedon to issue a bench warrant and postpone the hearing.
