    It is alleged that on 27 May 2023 at Corcamore, Clarina, County Limerick, Stephen Holland, aged 48, put his hands around the throat of a male neighbour and wedged him against a shed during a dispute over the movement of cattle. Holland was charged with one count of Section 3 assault causing harm. At Newcastle West Court on 24 January 2024, his solicitor said the matter is contested, and Judge Carol Anne Coolican declined jurisdiction, citing a medical report, so the case will not be heard at district court level. The matter was then adjourned to a date in March at Newcastle West Court for DPP's directions.
