  Stephen Heraty, a 38-year-old man of Finner, Ballyshannon, is alleged to have been in possession of diamorphine and cocaine for sale or supply at Rampart Lane, Finner, on 17 September 2022. He is also alleged to have been in possession of cocaine, cannabis and diamorphine on the same occasion, and the charges are made under Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. Before his court appearance, a garda served him with the book of evidence. On 5 September 2025 at Ballyshannon District Court, with the DPP's consent, Judge Ciaran Liddy sent him forward for trial on five charges on existing bail terms. The latest development is that the trial is set for the next sitting of Donegal Circuit Court in Letterkenny, commencing 9 December.
