  Stephen Doyle, a 36-year-old man, was charged with robbing €167 worth of tablets from Hickey's pharmacy in Tyrelstown, Dublin 15, on Friday evening, 17 January 2025. A garda told the court that CCTV from the scene showed a person with a bag over his face carrying a meat cleaver while elderly pensioners were collecting prescriptions. Mr Doyle, who has denied the allegation in five interviews, appeared before Judge David McHugh at Dublin District Court on Saturday, 18 January 2025, where Garda Sean Riordain objected to bail. Bail was set at a €100 bond with a €1,000 cash lodgement, with conditions to stay away from Tyrelstown and the pharmacy, observe a 12 pm to 6 am curfew and sign on daily at Blanchardstown garda station, and legal aid was granted.

  An Akita owned by Stephen Doyle of 5 Richmond Street, Longford, attacked a 78-year-old man on 8 February 2022. The dog had previously attacked a woman in 2018, and a previous judge had ordered it to be kept on a three-foot chain. On 9 March 2022, Judge Marie Keane at Longford District Court ordered the dog to be surrendered to the dog warden forthwith and destroyed. Doyle's solicitor John Quinn proposed alternative accommodation in Moydow, which was rejected.
