latest first- Man jailed for threatening to share ex-partner's intimate pictures Threatening to distribute an intimate image without consent; threats to kill · Co. Donegal
On 23 January 2022, in County Donegal, a man threatened in Facebook messages to send intimate pictures of his ex-partner to her family and friends after she refused him access to her Netflix account, and one message said he would kill her. Stephen Coveney Ryan was charged with threatening to distribute an intimate image without consent, and the threats-to-kill charge was taken into account when he pleaded guilty at Letterkenny Circuit Court. Judge John Aylmer reduced a starting sentence of three years to two and a half years, suspending the final 12 months on conditions including the MOVE programme. Reports of the sentence were published on 1 and 2 February 2024, and that sentencing is the latest development.
