  Stephen Connor (47), of Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, was charged with public order offences after he was ejected from a pub on Main Street, Ballymahon, Co Longford, on 11 February 2024 while watching a rugby match. When gardaí arrived at about 7.30pm he refused to cooperate and gave a false first name, and he was arrested. He was charged with section 4 and section 6 public order offences and appeared before Judge Bernadette Owens at Longford District Court. The latest development, reported in March 2024, is that he was convicted on the section six charge and fined €300 with four months to pay, and the section four charge was taken into consideration.
