Stephan Dolan, a man aged 30, was charged with dangerous driving at Millgrange and Monksland, Carlingford, on 27 October 2022, after gardaí tried to stop a vehicle and the driver sped off along the R175 and R173 towards Dundalk. He was also charged with driving without insurance or a driving licence. He entered an early guilty plea, and Judge Eirinn McKiernan at Dundalk District Court imposed a two-month sentence for one dangerous driving charge and a six-year driving ban, as reported on 21 June 2024. An extradition warrant to Northern Ireland was in existence, and the defence said a custodial sentence would delay that extradition.
