latest first- Man sentenced to six years for manslaughter at Mountjoy Prison Manslaughter · Co. Dublin
In January 2004, man Steo Wall stabbed man Alan Green, 30, in the chest with a butter knife sharpened into a shiv at Mountjoy Prison, Dublin, where both were serving sentences for drug offences. Green was found alive in his cell with a severe stab wound and died later that day after being sent to Mater Hospital. Wall pleaded guilty to manslaughter and not guilty to murder, and was sentenced to six years in prison in late 2006. A friend of Green said the fight may have been caused by a dispute over heroin. The case resurfaced in 2023 after Wall appeared on RTE's The Late Late Show and Sunday with Miriam.
